Settling In

Dear Friends and Family,

The last two weeks have seen the start of the school year and yesterday marked our youngest child’s 23rd birthday and one month in Kenya.

During this time we have started attending services at Karen Vineyard Church which is housed in the Kenya School of Law on Sundays. The congregation has several colleagues from West Nairobi School (WNS), and many welcoming souls.

In our visitor orientation, we spoke with two Kenyan women who shared how they came to KVC and how most pastors in Kenya rarely meet the people in their congregations. The pastors focus instead was on titles and privileges. We thank God that KVC is not that way and their community reminds us of ours at BCF.

Jeremy and I are learning more about our positions and the technology platforms utilized for them. It has been a week with challenges and triumphs. Slowly, “pole, pole” we are settling in to life here.

Prayer in our preschool classroom with faculty and staff.

Praises…

  • A school that believes in the power of prayers
  • The congregation at KVC and strong teaching through the book of John
  • Consistency in quiet times together

Prayers …

  • Grace as we continue to learn our positions
  • A successful SAT test session on Saturday
  • Provision for our son William and daughter Hannah as they move to Virginia Beach on Labor Day Weekend
  • Continued rest and healing for Jeremy – viruses abound at WNS

love you both BIG. Praising God for a church body you both already feel connected in and teaching that reflects Biblical truth. I enjoyed it with you this morning. ❤️

Good to hear from you, and to hear of your new church; it sounds great.

Beverly and I are in CLT on our way to Boston for the Memorial service for Beverly’s brother Roger. Then on to the UK to see my brother Peter.

Blessings on you and your ministry
