Sharing the Gospel and Walking Beside Others

First Kenyan Roadtrip!

God has been moving in unique ways over the last few weeks. Starting simply, we have completed work permits and we now have valid work visas for the next two years. Also, our passports are officially stamped, granting us resident status.

Jeremy had the opportunity to extend grace with a co-worker that continues to need prayer.

Courtney was able to share a brief gospel with an international customer service team. My discipleship group of 5th graders provided the information shared with the team.

We also had several unique experiences. First, we went out for a bike/run and Courtney ended up with 5 Kenyan women running around her. They had just left work. It was a unique fellowship moment.

Secondly, we had the opportunity to join with a group of missionaries from the International Mission Board on a family rafting trip. The river was up and running well. So well, that Courtney took a branch across the face. Yet, all was well and we finished the course.

Praises:

  • Opportunities to show grace with co-workers.
  • Grace received from co-workers as we continue to learn our roles.
  • Opportunities for fellowship and community.

Prayers:

  • Wisdom and grace for our co-workers needing that now.
  • God’s word to be shared whenever the opportunity presents itself.
  • RV to sell before December.
  • Wisdom for Courtney and Jeremy in planning around financial aspects of returning to the US for summer to visit with friends and family.
Victory after rafting!
Our river guide, Wilson! Ask him about the hippo and how God saved him (not on our trip)!

I love all that, but you can’t say Courtney took a branch across the face without confirming she still has all her facial features and they are functioning properly! Also, I need wildlife and scenery details: same or different, bigger or smaller, living or dead, etc., after all, you are the closest thing to Lewis & Clark that I will most likely ever know in my lifetime!

I am well. The photo with our guide was after the fact. The river did not hold any large mammals for us but the trees were large and amazing and covered with basket weaver birds in bright yellow.

The river is very muddy due to the large amount of minerals in the river bed. Also, the rapids went through a great deal of volcanic rock.
